    • Depending on the characteristics of the crude oil and the quality requirements of the final product, physical or chemical refining methods can be selected. Physical refining is usually used for oils with lower acid values to retain the natural components of the oil to the greatest extent. Chemical refining is suitable for oils with higher acid values and free fatty acids can be effectively removed through alkali refining and neutralization.
