    Introduction

    Waxes in oils and fats are esters formed by higher monocarboxylic acids and higher monohydric alcohols. The wax content of various crude oils varies greatly. Most crude oils contain very little, but some have higher contents, such as rice bran oil, sunflower oil, corn germ oil, etc. These crude oils need to be dewaxed. Dewaxing can improve the transparency of oils, increase the digestion and absorption rate of oils, improve the flavor and palatability of oils and at the same time comprehensively utilize the wax sources of vegetable oils.

    Our Process:

    • According to the melting point difference between wax and oil and the fact that the solubility of wax in oil becomes smaller as the temperature decreases, crystal wax (a mixture of live wax and crystallizer) is precipitated by cooling and the oil and wax are separated by filtration or centrifugal separation.
    • Since wax has adverse effects on alkali refining, bextraction and deodorization, and dewaxing requires a temperature below 25°C, usually the crude oil is dewaxed first before subsequent processing after degumming.
